A Quality Die is a Stress Die that does not have a possibility of Botching. A 0 on the die is simply a 0, while a 1 is rerolled, with a doubling of the new value rolled.
Although the name "Quality Die" is not used in Ars_Magica_Fifth_Edition, the rules do describe stress dice that cannot botch.
The name "Quality Die" is a holdover from Ars_Magica_Fourth_Edition.
