Server Status

- Error creating thumbnail: You may see error messages "Error creating thumbnail: File missing." The image files are where they're supposed to be; try editing the page and see if the thumbnail gets rebuilt. If that doesn't help, please add a sub-bullet with a link to the page and we'll look into it.
Maintenance
The next annual maintenance window will be sometime between December 26-31, 2026. We're willing to satisfy feature requests outside of the annual maintenance cycle.

2026 Feature Requests
- At the upload page, I chose the "self|arm-open-4.0" license. The file page File:Nigrasaxa 5e.pdf now includes the Template:Self template, which is just a red link. Change Proposals
- Rename (move) Project Redcap: Current events to something like "Project Redcap: Announcements?"
- Proposed 2024-01-24: Remove page Project Redcap:Copyrights. Move copyright related content to Project Redcap:Terms of Service and trademark related content to Project Redcap: General disclaimer. The Copyrights page has 17 inbound links that would need to be updated, and a redirect should be created so any inbound links from the internet can go to the new content User:Andrew Gronosky

Ideas
Revisit Purpose
In light of the news that Ars Magica Definitive Edition will be community licensed, we have a chance to expand the Project Redcap: Purpose purpose of this site. We can use it as a publishing hub, a one-stop shop for the Ars Magica community to develop new open-licensed content for Ars Magica. I think this will take some thought about how to organize and label such content. Users who don't want their open licensed content edited willy-nilly by other users should post on their own non-wiki websites and link to them from Project:Redcap. User:Andrew Gronosky
Add Bureaucrats
Users with administrator privileges are called "bureaucrats" in MediaWiki documentation.
I'd like to see people volunteer for the bureaucrat role. Bureaucrats share the work of:
- Creating user accounts when requested
- Responding to moderation requests -- which happen rarely
- Patrolling the "recent changes" page and deleting spam and banning user accounts.
Update Main Menu
Consider updating the main menu to added pages such as:
- A landing page for contributors, such as Project Redcap: Getting Started
- A landing page for help
