In Ars Magica, the library is one of the most important elements of a Covenant. Magi use Books to study the Hermetic Arts and improve their ability to do magic.

The size, breadth, and quality of a library's collection is a strong determinant of how quickly magi can advance in power. Therefore, the library should be designed to suit the desired Power Level and advancement rate for the player-character magi.
