Category for pages I'm recommending for deletion/merger

Hey again. I've created Category:Recommend Removal or Merger as a way to tag pages I think should be either outright deleted or merged with or into other pages. In some cases I don't see any case where they need to have their own page, in others it may be worthwhile IF anyone has commentary on that specific subject. At any rate, a tool for quick reference when you have time to look. I'll add the mispelled Gourna the Fetid article discussed above. Inquisitive 15:41, 12 October 2012 (MDT)

Naming of first two tribunal books

Yair and Andrew- We have an inconsistency in product names, namely Tribunals of Hermes Iberia and Tribunals of Hermes: Rome. I'd seen red links for Tribunals of Hermes: Iberia in the Iberian Tribunal page, and checked products when I noticed the difference. Before changing the redlinks in the tribunal page, I thought I'd bring it up first and see whether Iberia is changed to conform with Rome or vice versa. I know you're both busy, so I can wait. Just leave me a message when you do change one or the other and I'll fix what links I find. Inquisitive 21:20, 2 November 2012 (MDT)

The correct format is Tribunals of Hermes: Rome, not Tribunals of Hermes Rome; as I see things, anyway, and from the names of other products. Yair 20:03, 3 November 2012 (MDT)
I agree, but didn't want to rename without checking with both of you. Inquisitive 20:00, 4 November 2012 (MST)

Having remembered/found the move option, I've moved Tribunals of Hermes Iberia to Tribunal of Hermes:Iberia and then fixed the few pages that linked to it. Inquisitive 21:46, 8 November 2012 (MST)

Separate page for you as author

Hey. I just finished fixing the sorting setting for each of the authors who have been tagged with Cat Authors. You stick out like a sore thumb in that list because you use your user page. Perhaps we should set up a separate Andrew Gronosky page with the info you have on the user page now? Inquisitive 23:01, 13 December 2012 (MST)

Sounds good. I wonder what to put on my user page then? :-) --AG

Fifth Ed products

I've just finished adding a skeleton- infobox, short summary, external links, related products, and cats- for Fallen Fane. All currently listed fifth ed products in the List of products by edition page have working links, including redirects for their abbreviation. A lot of work needs to be done for each of them, including image covers (sorry, I'm still savy on uploading those). Nice to not have any red links for the list of the current edition though. Edition cats for authors

I saw the edit you made to Eric Kouris. Are you sure you don't want to include edition categories for authors based on the editions they wrote products for? The Jonathan Tweet page makes a point about how is no longer involved with the community. I just think it makes sense to include them in categories for any editions they contributed material to.

I was thinking that the edition categories were a search aid, so if you're looking for
Fifth Edition pages you could go to the ArM5 category and see all the articles on that
edition. Under that viewpoint, edition categories for authors are questionable. But you
make a good point, that there's value in knowing which editions an author wrote for.
I can't think of a better solution than to use edition categories as you suggest. So,
I reversed my decision and rolled back the change to Eric Kouris. Thanks for explaining
your point of view.

As an aside, I also noticed you ported over a number of templates, but haven't had a chance to look at any of them specifically yet. I'm looking forward to see what expanded tools we have to work with. Thanks. Inquisitive (talk) 01:09, 7 January 2013 (MST)

The new ones are listed & explained on the Project Redcap: Templates page. Each template
is made up of multiple files, so you'll see a lot of imports for just a handful of usable
templates. If you think of any other templates we need, let me know.

Is the opening text supposed to say he's been the publisher of a fan site since ArM3? I'm not sure how to correct the text. Inquisitive (talk) 15:46, 20 January 2013 (MST)

Help:Basic formatting

Done. There was only one link to my user page for pointing out tips, and I changed that. My user page still has all the tips, I just copied and pasted them over to the help page. I haven't changed the text to reflect that it's not me talking yet. Inquisitive (talk) 18:21, 21 April 2013 (MDT)

Name change worked fine

As you can see. Thanks! IMHO (talk) 00:27, 13 June 2013 (MDT)

Too much caffeine today?

Such a sudden flurry of activity you've engaged in. And oops, :) doesn't work at the beginning. IMHO (talk) 22:15, 3 January 2014 (MST)

I had a complicated issue to sort out: there was user help but it was overlapping and spread
over multiple pages. So the only way to straighten it out was to take the whole series of
pages apart and put them back together in the right form. But come to mention it, I did
drink a whole liter of diet cola around lunchtime. :) -AG

Category placement

My constantly moving all cats to the bottom may be a little OCD, but there is at least a rationale to it. The lead is the only section of a page that we can't pinpoint edit. If you want to edit the lead, you have to open an edit page to everything. But so long as we don't put any meta code, like cats, on top, then the text of the lead will usually be there. Since the cats appear at the bottom anyway, I put them there. We can also pinpoint edit them by editting whatever the last section is. Of course there are some exceptions to this- infoboxes and images that we want at the top of the page, but the can only be put in the lead if we want them to appear at top.

I just wanted to give you an idea of why I do this nitpicky thing. Okay that and I've gotten used to it at Wikipedia. IMHO (talk) 14:50, 5 January 2014 (MST)

Product description template

Looking at HoHMC compared with HoHTL and HoHS made me think. Is there a way to add a new field that will put a caption under the image file. Basically, combine what's done with HoH:MC using just an image, but describing the cover, and the other two, which have full product descriptions. Low priority, but worth a mention. Hope all is well.
